About us
Hi, I'm Scott and I'm a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and sibling addiction abuse. I'm the founder of Scots Recovery from Childhood Abuse. The reason I set up this charity is simple, throughout my journey I've been told by numerous doctors and therapists that what happened wasn't my fault. With this ringing in my ears, I thought to myself “why am I the one that's paying a fortune on therapy in order to continue existing and not living?”. When I looked for help and support within Central Scotland I found nothing in terms of dedicated therapy or group support from fellow survivors. I did find that Fife has a dedicated resource centre and so does Glasgow and Edinburgh, so I decided that the Forth Valley area should have a hub of our own for delivering a recovery pathway to fellow survivors.

Our Therapists
At SRFCA we take pride in our diverse team of fully qualified Therapists, we have several fully accredited professionals certified by COSCA, BACP or NCPS with extensive experience in addressing childhood trauma. Representing more than 20 languages and cultural backgrounds, our therapists bring a unique perspective to the services we offer, ensuring a culturally sensitive approach tailored to the needs of our clients. This approach allows us to deliver our services in a manner that respects and embraces the diverse cultural identities of our clients. Combining this with having our own specialists covering areas such as addiction, EMDR and art therapy makes us a unique organisation in Scotland providing the FREE services that we do for Forth Valley residents regardless of background, gender or financial standing.
We firmly believe that our team comprises some of the most exceptional therapists and medical professionals in Central Scotland, dedicated to supporting our clients on their journey towards healing and recovery. Their expertise and compassion are at the core of our organisation, ensuring that each individual receives the highest quality of care. Furthermore, our charity is enriched by the presence of student therapists, who contribute to our post-recovery services. This collaboration not only provides valuable practical experience for the next generation of mental health professionals but also ensures a continuum of support for our clients as they transition into their post-recovery phase.
